These terms govern your use of the Kitab app and website ("Kitab"), published by Pesalock Africa Limited, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Kitab you agree to them.

1. What Kitab is

Kitab is a personal-finance tool. It records the money you tell it about, reminds you of bills and goals, and shows summaries. It does not hold, move or invest your money, and nothing in Kitab is financial advice.

2. Your account

You need a Pesalock identity to use Kitab. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for everything done under your account. You must be 18 or older, or use Kitab with a guardian's consent.

3. Your data

The figures you enter are yours. You can export them at any time and delete your account, which removes your data from our systems within 30 days except where the law requires us to keep it. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy policy.

4. Free and Plus

The Free plan is free. Kitab Plus is a paid subscription billed through Google Play, the App Store, or — on the web — through Pesalock's mobile-money and card rails. Prices are shown before you pay. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancelling stops future charges and Plus features stay on until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow the rules of the store you paid through.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Kitab to break the law, to interfere with the service, or to access other people's data. We may suspend accounts that do.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep Kitab available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features; where a change matters to you we will tell you in the app or by email in advance.

7. Liability

Kitab is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from your reliance on figures or reminders in Kitab, or from events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and disputes are subject to the courts of Tanzania.
