How it works

Three small habits. One clear picture.

You do the first one. Kitab does the other two.

1

Log it in five seconds

Tap +, type the amount, pick a category. Salary, rent and loan instalments are set up once and remembered.

2

Get reminded before it’s due

Three days before, on the day, and if it slips. A tap marks it paid — no need to open the app.

3

Reach a goal in weekly steps

Tell Kitab what you’re saving for. It works out the weekly amount and nudges you — and celebrates the milestones.

Real money

A loan is not income. Kitab never pretends it is.

Most apps show one balance. Kitab shows what is actually yours after what you’ve borrowed — and what you’re worth once assets and debts are counted.

Reminders that respect you

Few, well-timed, always actionable.

Quiet hours by default. Never more than three a day. Every one has a button.

You have 300 000 you don’t need this month. Paying it into Timiza saves ~18 000 in interest.

Questions

Do I have to type every expense?

Only the ones you want to see. Recurring things — salary, rent, LUKU, loan instalments — are set up once; Kitab creates them each month and just asks you to confirm.

What is “real money”?

Your liquid balances minus what you owe in the short term. If you borrowed 700 000 from a mobile loan, it shows in your account but it isn’t yours — Kitab subtracts it so you plan with the right number.

Who does the “coaching” for goals?

Kitab does, automatically. It splits your goal into weekly amounts and suggests small actions from your own spending. There are no human coaches.

Does it work in Swahili?

Yes — the app, reminders and emails are all available in Kiswahili and English.

What happens if I stop paying for Plus?

Nothing is deleted. Reports and the financial-state screen go back to a preview; your extra goals pause until you choose which one stays active.

Is there a desktop version?

Open Kitab in any browser at the same address — it’s the same app with a sidebar layout. Your phone and browser stay in sync.

Start with one bill.

Add the thing you most often forget. Kitab takes it from there.
